PFD announces major expansion with new facility to meet growing demand in WA

PFD Food Services, Australia’s leading foodservice distributor, is doubling the size of its WA operations with a new flagship facility spanning 22,290m2 set to open in ASCEND Industrial Estate at Jandakot Airport in October 2026.

The expansion will enhance its operations, increase capacity, and allow it to better serve its growing customer base across Western Australia, marking a major milestone in the company’s growth strategy.

This move will improve service delivery to meet the changing needs of customers and support regional operations in Geraldton, Bunbury, Albany, Esperance and Kalgoorlie.

Tony Pascov, PFD General Manager, Western Australia and Northern Territory said: "This expansion reflects our commitment to investment in Western Australia, delivering high-quality service and an even more comprehensive product range to our customers.

“Over 17 years, we’ve proudly built strong, long-lasting relationships with local businesses and an upgraded facility is needed to meet capacity.

“We’re excited about this next step for PFD as we continue to bring people together through food across Western Australia.”

PFD celebrates its longevity in the local region where it has serviced local businesses for the past 17 years. Launching in WA in 2008 with 130 people and 22 trucks, PFD is currently based in Banjup, just five minutes from the new facility, and has been at the site since 2009.

Today, PFD has quintupled in size, now boasting 276 people and more than 60 trucks, as well as supporting numerous local sporting and charitable organisations.

With customers in Kununurra to the north, Albany to the south, Denham to the west, and Madura to the east, the PFD team covered a total of 2.5 million kilometres last year, the equivalent of travelling around the world over 60 times.

The new facility will house state-of-the-art infrastructure and equipment, driving efficiency, quality and a greater product range to support PFD’s future growth plans.

This includes energy-efficient refrigerated storage rooms, supported by a modern two-storey office space, truck maintenance facilities and environmental features including roof-mounted solar panels and refrigeration plant.

The opening of the new facility will further PFD's connection to the local community, better position the business to meet increasing demand, and reinforce its role as a trusted leader in the foodservices industry.

The project is being delivered by Dexus for PFD, as part of the ASCEND Industrial Estate, which is jointly owned by Dexus, Cbus Super and Dexus Industria REIT.
