PFD INVESTS IN FUTURE GROWTH WITH MAJOR LARA DISTRIBUTION CENTRE EXPANSION

PFD Food Services has announced a major expansion of its Lara Distribution Centre, reinforcing its commitment to supporting customer growth and strengthening supply chain capability across Victoria and regional Australia. 

Serving as a strategic hub for regional Victoria, the additional capacity will unlock new opportunities across key accounts and regional markets and support continued growth in high-demand areas including Bendigo, Warrnambool, and Horsham. 

The project will increase the total building footprint from 10,395 square metres to 11,340 square metres. Once complete, the expansion will deliver a 30% increase in frozen storage capacity, helping meet growing customer demand across the region. 

Delivered by construction partner Texco, the project will also provide approximately 80 additional car parking spaces for team members as PFD expands. 

Chief Operations Officer Leon Fairfield said the investment reflects the company's long-term commitment to supporting customers and enabling sustainable growth. 

"The Lara Distribution Centre plays a critical role in servicing customers across Victoria, and this expansion ensures we have the capacity to support future growth while continuing to deliver the high service standards our customers expect. 

"As demand continues to grow, investing in our infrastructure allows us to strengthen our network, create additional capacity and support opportunities for our regional operations." 

The expansion will provide immediate relief to existing storage constraints while creating additional capacity to support increasing sales volumes and future customer growth. 

Chief Commercial Officer Joanna McHarg said the additional capacity would help PFD respond to increasing demand and support growth across regional Victoria. 

"This investment positions us well to pursue new growth opportunities with existing and prospective customers. 

"As a key hub supporting Bendigo, Warrnambool and Horsham, the expanded facility will play an important role in supporting regional growth and ensuring we continue to meet the evolving needs of our customers." 

The project will enhance PFD's ability to support major customers, provide greater operational flexibility and increase network efficiency across Victoria. 

Construction is expected to be completed in late 2026.
